Opposites attract or attack?

We are usually pulled towards the persons who are similar to us, who share the same leanings and visions because being around alike people procures us with a certain security and tranquility to be ourselves with them knowing that they do understand us perfectly well and thus making it easier for us to communicate; however sometimes this resemblance could throw us into boredom and it can suck away the flavor of being challenged with someone who is opposite to us.

Who said opposites should attack because they do not last even if at some point they attract? Aren’t we naturally drawn to someone who confronts our character and awaken our brain cells? Don’t we all crave a mind that triggers our intellectual leaning and brings out a new layer in us? It is a sure thing that every person we meet highlights an attribute we have but was dormant within our soul waiting for someone to shine on it and bring it out in us.

When we are in contact with someone who intrigue our brain cells, we feel the rush of blood through our mind and we become more alert and focused on their distinction, we feed from it and even though we might not feel the comfort we experience when communicating with persons like us we still enjoy the defy they present by adopting an unlike idealistic attitude and their different ways of experiencing and expressing life. We usually oppose to such difference, but why don’t we start to look at them as a chance for learning from them. Life teaches us by the means of opposites and contradiction in order for us to be stronger and to cover all angles we could find ourselves surrounded with.

Do not be afraid from those who are different then you but rather embrace what sets them apart and work through the unfamiliarity in order to sustain and test your individuality. Diversity is richness, it adds a new color to the canvas of your existence, it reflects a new trait in you, it liberates your soul from the same frame of mind we always rotate and gravitate inside of its restraint.

Break the shell of your common safe grounds and dare to set foot in a foreign territory where you can find a new fresh self that was aching to be discovered.
