Do not let the vanity wolf devour you!

Most of us are familiar with the term” narcissist “, and for those who have never heard of the expression before I will elaborate: “Narcissus, in Greek mythology was a hunter who was renowned for his beauty. He was exceptionally arrogant, in that he despised those who loved him. As divine punishment he fell in love with his own reflection in a pool, not realizing it was merely an image, and he wasted away to death, not being able to leave the beauty of his own reflection.”

In few words he was so full of himself that he did not have room for any other human being besides himself.

How many persons you know are bitten by the Narcissus bug? Those who starve their compassion and humanity in order to feed their obsession with their own image and beauty that is as far as being stunning as it can be! Ego is not attractive, selfish love is not alluring, these are hideous ugly features that would turn any gorgeous face into a putrid filthy rotten heart , a beautiful face does not mean a beautiful mind or heart.

What is ego? What is vanity? Isn’t it a must for us to love ourselves first? Isn’t the first duties are ones towards ourselves too? When is it that the self love would turn into a beast? When do we say he is vain rather than he has self confidence? It is all a matter of dosage , it is a thin line that divides heaven from hell, when all we see is our own interest , our own benefit , our own happiness only disregarding the welfare of those who live with us and around us , when they become almost invisible expect for when they are there to kiss our ass, or to shower us with compliments and feed our ego because it becomes the only way for us to communicate with them, that’s when it is no longer self acceptance , but rather self adoration, beware of these people who walk like they have a mirror in front on them all day , they see and hear and feel nothing but the empty echoes that vibrate in the hallways of their soul, for they are like deserted cities and fortresses, they are kings of their mirage , victims of their hallucinations, of a pseudo empire where they rule over the vanity monarchy built of walls and floors , streets and skies made of mirrors everywhere so that they are able to feast their eyes with their divine mystic beauty that no other man possesses , where nothing is but an image , a hollow empty nothingness that is desperate to become something it will never be…

Oh those half people , half demons , they walk like the world owes them , like the people around them are slaves to their glory and magnitude , poor minds , sick beings , they are dead among the living , they lack substance and grace , they are nothing but human dust ,they are in the midst of the spotlight yet we fail to see them for they are unseen expect in their own reflection …

they created a hole so deep that it becomes impossible to reach out for them, they are Gods on earth, they are higher than us the rest of the population , they are the elite of human kind , but that s only in their perception because they do not have other visions expect their own… deprived of the true meaning of life, they miss the carnival of existence by taking too much time to beautify themselves enough to come along , but Halas nor the carnival nor the time waits for them…

But victims of vanity forget that even God created mankind in glory of his omnipresence, if there were no one to worship God, if God did not have worshipers who would have worshiped him? They are not Gods, they are incomplete silly persons, and they will end up alone , bitter and die illusionists , for humans need each other to live a full life, no one can be disconnected without being forgotten or run over …then no remorse nor wishes can fix what is broken..

As for the ego victims, they are self murderous, they feed and boost their ego to the point of bursting the ego bubble they live in and risk evaporating and being killed by too much of a good thing! It is healthy to boost our ego every now and then as a maintenance policy, but it is never healthy to let the ego untamed and uncensored for it will become a vicious ferocious monster that will eat us inside out and leave us bones only; ego is that me center, for we all know humans are altruistic and social, we live in groups and we have an instinctive tendency to communicate and co exist with each other. But when the “Me hub” is the only place we dwell in, when most of our time is spent there, it becomes our own lost land where we get lost inside the “me” that it becomes harder and harder for us to visit the “other” places where we meet our loved ones,;

when our sense of self is wild it risks its own death by the wolves of bewilderedness …

Love , live and enjoy your gifts , the finer things in life but always beware of the wolves of vanity and ego for they destroy any light and any satisfaction you feel , beware of where you place your foot , and always be cautious so that you will not cross over to the other side, it is all matter of dosage , don’t over dose of your self- image and beauty , know that you are beautiful and that you are worthy of life and all it has to offer but now that you are not the only person on earth and that the beauty that surrounds you is there for everyone to take pleasure in, and know that for every action there are consequences and that you hurt people around you while the damage is done from the core of your being! So step off your throne for you can never be king unless you stretch your hands for others, unless you acknowledge their needs as tending at them as well, only love of others can lift you to heights you never dream possible!

Remember this: self awareness is the best accessory you can add to your existence; delights are ephemeral, and authority a parade; but knowing yourself and the worlds that inhabit you is a permanent bliss, limitless in space and indefinite in period.
