Guilty pleasures!

The art of life lies in taking delights as they pass, whether accidental, unexpected or hunted after, and not all our pleasures are judged moral or pure intellectual or for the greater good.

How many of us are always searching for a ways to validate our guilty pleasures, may it be an obsession, a deceitful act, an insatiable appetite for carnal desires, or even for chocolate or Food or anything that we have conscience of its pest consequences over our lives.

But let us always cherish life as it happens by enjoying and savoring our guilty pleasures as long as we do not have bad intentions towards others and ourselves. We might be blameworthy according to the values society or religion imposes on us, but I always say follow your own direction for only you know the road to your heart mind and the body you dwell in. let us reflect on our way of life and ask the following question: How is it possible to enjoy the show of life if the expected standards are hard to meet especially if it enforces a flawless life? Isn’t a perfect life a flaw in itself?

It is advised not to bite at the bait of pleasure until we know there is no hook beneath it, but it is that hook that justifies and validates our pleasure may it be guilty or innocent. And isn’t better to feel guilty than regretful?

As human beings we impulsively seek enjoyment wherever we can find it or slip upon it, whether it makes us guilty or innocent…

But we should always be ready to the verdict as well as the sentence if we were to be as guilty as charged.

Guilt is regret for what we’ve done while Regret is guilt for what we didn’t do. Between the yelling of our memory with the blame of how could we have done this and the whispering of our grief over the evasive moments of the “ only if” we can turn back the hands of time; we swing back and forth between the land of remorse and the province of lament.

Sin, guilt, neurosis; are common words we hear among every society, but even sin is geographic what appears to be a vice in a country is nothing but a virtue at another different nation.

Every one of us is pulled down by their favorite pleasure to be lifted up high and above the seventh sky of ecstasy. We quaff and drink from a hundred fountains in case any of these hundred yields less and reduce our satisfaction we can always find another, in hope of coming across the transcendent cascade that always pours and ever flows with joy and bliss.

We are looking for our elixir of life, the secret of feeling the vibe and pulse of life and energy and nothing takes us to that rest expect an extreme passion for enchantment for it is the secret of a juvenile mind, heart and body even in the midst of our old age.

We all have the gift of a free will, everyone has the right to be selective in terms of how and why he should live the life he is living or escaping the life he always wanted. That is sacred freedom of choice and personal garden.

There are pleasures for one hour, others for years, and there are very few pleasures that last a lifetime if we manage to chase away the demons of error, self culpability and punishment for a pleasure the nature itself entitled us to, and that we torture ourselves feeling sorry for experiencing it, so we seek forgiveness; but it is the declaration of guilt not the pastor which grant us this clemency.

When we feel the anger directed at us, let us remember that we have a free will every guilty person is his own hangman. We should understand our satisfaction in order to enjoy or endure it in the entire guilt group we may be members of, Food, love or career.

What do you prefer being guilty of doing or guilty of never trying? The only voice you should hear is your very own, even if it is a murmur, snoop it even if it means you should swim against the current, think that you will swimming with your very own inner river. And even if the entire world hated you, and referred to you as an immoral, corrupted person while your own sense of right and wrong accepted you, and released you from the blame and the shame then rejoice yourself tremendously.

Believe in living on impulse as long as you never are plotting to demolish or harm those around you, it is your right and your freedom of choice.

It is said that Pleasure is Nature’s examination, her sign of approval. When a person is happy, he becomes in accord with himself and his surroundings.

Even if your pleasures are minuscule and only have the ability to magnetize you at intervals, make the best of them, for we might forget days and years but never moments in our lives…

Never forget this: our most vivid fire is usually kindled by unforeseen sparks that ignite them. And to experience the fleeting brilliance of a comet however short-lived it might be, it is as interesting as to live the stillness and serenity of twilight.
